Product Safety & Care

We want your Mellow Fidgets to be enjoyed safely and to last as long as possible. Our products are 3D printed, so they have slightly different care requirements from traditionally manufactured toys and accessories.

Please read the information below before using your Mellow Fidgets products.

General Safety

Always use Mellow Fidgets products as intended and check them regularly for signs of wear or damage.

Follow any age guidance or safety information provided on the individual product listing.
Products containing small or detachable parts may present a choking hazard and should be kept away from babies and young children.
Children should be supervised where appropriate.
Do not place fidget products in the mouth unless the product is specifically described as being designed for this purpose.
Our products are not designed to be chewed, bitten or swallowed.
Stop using a product if it becomes cracked, broken, excessively worn or develops loose or sharp parts.
Keep products away from open flames and excessive heat.

Product-specific safety information will be provided on individual listings where additional precautions are required.

3D Printed Products

Many Mellow Fidgets products are created using 3D printing.

Unlike mass-manufactured products, 3D printed items are built layer by layer. This means you may notice small layer lines, slight variations in texture or minor differences between products.

These are normal characteristics of the 3D printing process and make each item slightly unique.

Although our products are designed for repeated use, excessive force, bending, throwing, crushing or other unintended use may cause them to break.

Materials

Our 3D printed products are primarily made using PLA (Polylactic Acid) unless otherwise stated on the individual product listing.

Some products may contain additional components such as mechanical keyboard switches, keyrings, magnets, UV ink or other moving parts.

Please check the individual product description for information specific to the item you are purchasing.

Heat & Sunlight

PLA can soften or deform when exposed to high temperatures.

To help protect your fidget:

Do not leave it on a hot radiator or heater.
Keep it away from open flames.
Avoid leaving it inside a hot car.
Avoid prolonged exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight.
Do not put 3D printed products in a dishwasher, microwave or oven.

Some of our products are intentionally made using heat-reactive or colour-changing materials. These products may change appearance when warmed by your hands or environment, but they should still be protected from excessive heat.

Cleaning Your Fidgets

Most 3D printed fidgets can be cleaned using a soft damp cloth with a small amount of mild soap.

For more detailed or textured products, a soft brush can help remove dirt from grooves and textured areas.

Allow your product to dry thoroughly before using it again.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, we recommend that you:

Do not put products in the dishwasher.
Do not soak products for extended periods.
Do not use boiling or very hot water.
Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners.
Do not use abrasive cleaning products.

Products containing mechanical switches, magnets or other components should not be submerged in water.

Fidgets With Moving Parts

Some Mellow Fidgets products include moving, spinning, sliding, clicking or articulated components.

These parts are designed for fidgeting but can become damaged if excessive force is applied.

Please do not deliberately pull apart moving components unless the product is specifically designed to be disassembled.

If a component becomes loose, cracked or damaged, stop using the product until it can be safely assessed or replaced.

Clickers & Keyboard Switch Fidgets

Some of our clickers contain mechanical keyboard switches or similar components.

These products are designed to be pressed and clicked using normal hand pressure.

Do not attempt to remove the switch or internal components, particularly where the product is being used by a child.

If the outer casing, switch or surrounding material becomes damaged or loose, discontinue use.

Textured & High-Intensity Fidgets

Some Mellow Fidgets products are intentionally designed to provide strong tactile stimulation and may feature pronounced bumps, spikes, ridges or other textures.

These products should feel stimulating but should not cause injury.

Everyone experiences sensory input differently. Use only the amount of pressure that feels comfortable for you.

Stop using the product if it causes broken skin, bleeding, persistent pain, numbness, bruising or other injury.

Our sensory products are designed as fidget and sensory tools and are not medical devices or substitutes for professional medical or therapeutic advice.

Articulated & Flexi Products

Articulated products contain multiple connected sections that allow them to bend and move.

Avoid pulling, twisting or forcing the joints beyond their natural movement, as this may cause individual links or sections to break.

If an articulated product breaks and creates small or sharp pieces, discontinue use immediately and dispose of the damaged pieces safely.

Keychains

Products supplied with keyrings, clips or other attachments should be checked regularly to make sure all components remain securely attached.

Keychain components and small attachments may present a choking hazard and are not suitable for unsupervised use by very young children.

Inspect Your Fidget Regularly

Like any frequently handled product, fidgets can wear over time.

We recommend regularly checking for:

Cracks or splits
Sharp edges
Loose components
Broken articulated joints
Damaged switches
Detached keyrings or fittings
Excessive wear

If you are unsure whether a product is still safe to use, stop using it and contact us.

Sensory Needs Are Individual

We know that everyone’s sensory preferences are different.

Some people enjoy firm textures, strong pressure and loud clicks, while others prefer smooth surfaces, gentle movement or quiet fidgets.

Please read the individual product description before purchasing to help determine whether the texture, movement and level of sensory input are suitable for you or the person you are purchasing for.

Parents, carers, teachers and other responsible adults should use their own judgement when selecting products for children or individuals who may require additional supervision.
